Hi Bruce, No, in the end I couldn't justify the cost of a receiver and antenna, and find that there's someone else sharing in the Cromarty Firth area anyway on ShipPlotter.
Yeah i noticed there is the occational "br" sharer in the Inverness/Invergordon area.
I've just let one of my recievers out to a contact in Lossiemouth and they should shortly be sharing to COAA & Shipais.com
If you ever think/need the lend of a reciever and a basic antenna on a short or long term basis i usually (currently do) have one spare.
As i think your location would pick up a good few ships and bridge a gap that there is the open water between Wick & Peterhead. Might pick up a few platforms too.

Hi Chris & Ann, did you ever get yourself up and running with a AIS reciever?
If you did do you share your data anywhere? like COAA or ShipAIS.com?
